This Refunds and Cancellations Policy (“Policy”) explains how refunds, credits, transfers, rescheduling, and cancellations work for purchases made through THC or any official THC sales channel. This Policy forms part of the THC Terms of Service and is incorporated by reference. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.

If you are a consumer, you may have non waivable rights under the laws of your country, state, or province. Nothing in this Policy limits those mandatory rights.

Quick view

This “Quick view” is a summary only. The full Policy controls.

Live events and workshops

  • Full refund or transfer up to 48 hours before start time (Eastern Time, unless stated otherwise)
  • Within 48 hours: refunds are generally not available, but we may offer credit or transfer at our discretion
  • If THC cancels and does not reschedule, you receive a refund or credit

Memberships and subscriptions

  • Cancel any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period
  • First purchase: limited refund window (generally 7 days) if you engaged in good faith
  • Renewals are generally non refundable once the new billing period starts

Digital products and replays

  • Normally non refundable once access is granted
  • If there is a technical issue we cannot resolve within a reasonable time, we will refund, credit, or replace

One to one services and custom work

  • Deposits and retainers are generally non refundable
  • Late cancellations or no shows may be charged in full

1. Scope and relationship to the Terms of Service

This Policy applies to purchases made through THC or an official THC sales channel, including:

  • Live events, workshops, sprints, cohorts, and group sessions
  • Memberships and subscriptions
  • Digital products such as templates, PDFs, prompt kits, and replays
  • One to one services, advisory, consulting, coaching, and custom build work

This Policy works together with the Terms of Service. If this Policy conflicts with mandatory consumer protection laws applicable to you, those laws control.

2. Time zones

Unless otherwise stated on the event page or checkout, all time based rules in this Policy (including “48 hours” and “24 hours”) are calculated based on the scheduled start time in United States Eastern Time (ET). You are responsible for accounting for time zone differences.

3. General principles

We aim to be fair, clear, and respectful.

We also must protect the time, preparation, scheduling constraints, and intellectual property involved in live events, digital products, and services.

We are generally more flexible when a request is made promptly and in good faith. We are generally less flexible when:

  • You changed your mind
  • You did not have time to attend or use the content
  • A pattern suggests misuse (for example repeated purchasing and refunding, or sharing paid materials)

4. Definitions

For clarity:

Live Events means workshops, sessions, sprints, cohorts, and group calls scheduled for a specific date and time.
Memberships or Subscriptions means recurring plans that provide access to community spaces, resources, events, or content during a billing period.
Digital Products means non subscription digital content such as templates, PDFs, prompt kits, downloads, streaming materials, and stand alone replays.
Services means one to one, small group, or custom work such as consulting, coaching, advisory work, implementation, or build services.
Credit means a non cash balance issued by THC that may be applied toward eligible future THC offerings, subject to any stated expiration or restrictions.
Transfer means moving an event registration to another eligible attendee or another scheduled date of the same or comparable event, where available.

5. Live events and workshops

5.1 Refunds and transfers before the event

More than 48 hours before the scheduled start time (ET):
You may request either:

  • A full refund, or
  • A transfer of your ticket to a future date (if offered) or to another person

Within 48 hours of the scheduled start time (ET):
Refunds are not guaranteed. At our discretion, we may offer one of the following where reasonable:

  • A credit toward a future THC event
  • A transfer to another person
  • Access to a replay or related material if that was included in the original offer or is a reasonable substitute

5.2 No shows

If you do not attend a Live Event and did not contact us before the start time, the ticket is considered used and no refund is due. If a replay was included in your purchase, you will still receive the replay.

5.3 Cancellation or rescheduling by THC

If we cancel an event and do not reschedule it, you may choose either:

  • A full refund, or
  • A credit of equal value toward another THC event

If we reschedule an event:

  • Your ticket will be moved to the new date
  • If you cannot attend the new date, you may request a refund or credit (your choice), unless local law requires a different remedy

5.4 Event specific terms

Some events may have additional rules (for example limited capacity, bundles, or special guest sessions). If event specific terms conflict with this Policy, the event specific terms control for that event, except where prohibited by law.

6. Memberships and subscriptions

6.1 Free trials

If a Membership includes a free trial:

  • You may cancel during the trial period and you will not be charged
  • Once the trial converts to a paid subscription, the rules below apply

6.2 Billing cycles and cancellation

Memberships are billed on a recurring basis (for example monthly or yearly) as stated at checkout. You may cancel at any time through account settings (if available) or by contacting us.

When you cancel:

  • Access continues until the end of the current billing period
  • You will not be charged for future billing periods

Fees for billing periods that have already started are generally non refundable, except where required by law or as stated in Section 6.3.

6.3 First time membership refund window

For a first time Membership purchase, you may request a refund within 7 days of the initial payment if:

  • You made a genuine effort to use the Membership (for example attended a call, joined a session, or accessed content), and
  • You can explain why the Membership did not match the description or your reasonable expectations

We may decline a refund where there is clear misuse, bad faith, or material access to benefits inconsistent with a refund request (for example repeated downloading of paid materials followed by a refund request), to the extent permitted by law.

6.4 Renewals

Renewal charges after the initial period are generally non refundable once the renewal billing period begins, because access to Membership benefits is granted immediately. In exceptional circumstances, we may offer a partial credit or a one time adjustment at our discretion, except where law requires otherwise.

7. Digital products and replays

Because Digital Products can be accessed, copied, and stored immediately, all Digital Products and stand alone replays are normally non refundable once access is granted, except where required by law.

If a technical issue prevents access and we cannot resolve it within a reasonable time, we will, at our option:

  • Provide a functioning version, or
  • Provide a refund, partial refund, or credit as appropriate under the circumstances

7.1 EU and UK digital content consent

If you are located in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may have a statutory cooling off period for some purchases. For digital content not supplied on a physical medium, your right to withdraw may end once:

  • You expressly request or consent to immediate access, and
  • We make the digital content available

Where required, we will obtain any necessary consent at checkout.

8. One to one services and custom work

8.1 Deposits and retainers

Deposits or retainers paid to reserve time are generally non refundable once paid, unless we cancel the engagement. If we cancel before any work is delivered, we will refund any unused portion.

8.2 Rescheduling, late cancellations, and no shows

You may reschedule a one to one session with at least 24 hours notice (ET), subject to availability. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice, or no shows, may be charged in full.

8.3 Refunds for Services

Because Services involve time, preparation, and expertise, we generally do not offer refunds once a session has been delivered or a project milestone has been completed.

If there is clear non delivery or a significant failure to provide what was described, we may, at our discretion and where permitted by law:

  • Provide additional work at no extra cost
  • Offer a replacement session
  • Provide a partial or full refund, depending on what is fair under the circumstances

9. Local consumer rights and cooling off periods

Some jurisdictions provide mandatory consumer rights, including cooling off periods and rules for subscriptions, auto renewal, and digital content.

Where applicable law grants you a non waivable right to withdraw or cancel, we will comply. Exceptions may apply under local law, including for:

  • Digital content where you requested immediate access and the right of withdrawal is waived or lost under applicable rules
  • Services tied to a specific date and time once performed

Nothing in this Policy is intended to limit your statutory rights.

10. How to request a refund, credit, transfer, or help

To request a refund, credit, transfer, or assistance, contact:

Email: Team@thecuriosityco-op.com
Subject line: Refund or credit request – [Order Number]

Include:

  • Your full name and the email used at checkout
  • Your order number or transaction ID
  • What you purchased and the purchase date
  • What you are requesting and why

We may request additional information to verify identity and the transaction.

11. Third party platforms and processor rules

If you purchased through a third party platform or marketplace, that platform’s policies may also apply. Where those rules conflict, the platform’s rules may govern the transaction to the extent required by the platform and applicable law.

Whenever possible, contact us first. Most issues are resolved faster directly.

If you initiate a chargeback or dispute without contacting us first, we may restrict access to the Services while the dispute is pending, and we may decline future purchases where we reasonably believe disputes are abusive or unfounded, to the extent permitted by law.

12. Misuse and bad faith

We may decline refund requests or restrict access if we reasonably believe a customer is:

  • Abusing this Policy
  • Repeatedly purchasing and refunding
  • Sharing paid materials without permission
  • Acting dishonestly or in bad faith

We do not take this lightly and apply this section only where we have a reasonable basis, and only to the extent permitted by law.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

Except where prohibited by applicable law, this Policy and any dispute or claim arising out of or related to it or purchases from THC will be governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to conflict of laws rules.

Where lawsuits are permitted and subject to mandatory local consumer rights, disputes will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Michigan, United States, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may also provide notice by email or through our community channels.

The version that applies to your purchase is the version in effect at the time you completed the transaction, unless a later change clearly gives you more favorable rights.
